For everyone out there wanting to know how to turn an internship into a job read how Julia did it.

1. Set up your internship 8 months in advance! Julia got her choice because she was thinking in advance.

2. Finish all of your classes in advance and make it your sole focus over your last 10 weeks. Besides, how great would it be to only have an internship to do over the last 10 weeks.

3. Go the extra mile at work, volunteer for extra things AND TURN IT INTO A JOB. Make yourself indispensable.

4. The 10 weeks gave Julia a chance to evaluate us as a potential employer and for us to evaluate her as a potential employee.

Internships, paid or unpaid are a terrific way to get your "foot in the door"! We have had three or four students from Sinclair Community College Capstone Project that are now Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley employees now thanks to their internships.

Personally, my internship was incredibly beneficial in assisting me with finding my first job out of college.
