Committee to Aid the Blind

Dayton Foundation Grant

Since 1991, the Committee to Aid the Blind has assisted members of the community who are legally blind. The Dayton Foundation through the generosity of the Hewitt Family provides funding to assist individuals that are legally blind.

Service Area: must be a resident of
Montgomery, Greene, Miami, Darke or Preble Counties.

Eligibility: Birth to age 18 - apply yearly for grants up to $300.

Age 19+ - First time applicants can apply for grants of up to $400. Applicants must wait two years before applying for a second grant of up to $200. Applicants who have received a total award up to $600 are not eligible for any more grants.

The committee approves the amount stated on the application. If the maximum amount is not used, the balance will be held over. If the amount is over the total allowed, the recipient is responsible for the difference.

It is the discretion of the committee to approve or disapprove any item or items.

Turner Foundation - Clark County

In 2006, The Turner Foundation began providing funds to assist people who are legally blind in Clark County. All of the same criteria is in place as listed above except for the fact that the individual must preside in Clark County.
